Hi, my name is Apolinaras Sinkevicius, but most call me Apollo. I live in Somerville, MA with my lovely wife Kerstin.

I am the guy who takes care of the day-to-day business and techonology needs of rapidly growing companies. 12 years in managing the nuts and bolts of startups makes me a seasoned operations professional and right hand person to founders and CEOs.

My career consists of working for startups and very rapidly growing “small” businesses. My deepest expertise is in two areas:

1. For startups – wearing many hats and building scalable business with longevity focus.

2. For more mature companies - moving the company out of the slump by bringing back entrepreneurial attitude.

I keep entrepreneurs and CEOs out of jail and an early grave. I have been an “operations guy” for 12+ years and I still can’t get enough of my profession. Why? Because leading, advising, and mentoring in business operations is where the actions is - there isn’t a dull day in a life of an operations person. This environment keeps you on the edge of your seat and makes you seek cutting edge knowledge.

I have built my “scar tissue” through saving one company from going under in the worst downturn ever to hit that industry,watching two businesses fail (was the last employee in one), and leading operations/technology for two very rapidly growing companies in the technology industry that are still growing (unlike many competitors). I am very proud to have been part of teams that won Deloitte Technology Fast 50, Inc 5000, and other awards year after year.

Currently, I advise first-time entrepreneurs and consult mid to mature stage startups in the areas of scalable business operations, customer/product development, and scalable business technology. I mostly focus on companies in technology, professional services, and entertainment. I am always on the lookout for that next startup I can help take from $1MM in annual profit to $10MM, $15MM, and beyond.

Although I’m passionate about operations, I do have a life outside business. I am an avid car enthusiast. You can find me at many auto events and competing in autocross with PCA, SCCA, BMWCCA, and other car clubs (Strict Stock 8 and Super Stock class, for those of you who know what it is).

I am absolutely blessed to be married to Kerstin, who is a gifted scientist, currently at Harvard working on her post-doc and looking for a cure for cancer (yes, I married up). I also call her my business partner and investor, because I love the input she has when I need to solve extremely difficult challenges. She supports me in every venture, but also calls me on my BS every time she smells it. She balances me out, reminds me what really matters, and always keeps me on my toes. And not to be forgotten, she is also my proofreader and toughest critic. when it comes to articles in this blog.
