In a way I covered it with my point #3 (make sure your team sees the result of their giving). That is where leadership becomes very important. Especially with younger team members, you will have to "evangelize" the importance of doing it. But if the culture is there, majority will get it, hence the need to build that in early. Another recommendation that I would make is to have sessions where you educate the employees on the reasons why we should give. What I find more and more is that many people don't understand why they should give. No one ever educated them about it. Good post.
